Full bio
Brian Deitch is VP & CTO In Residence at Zscaler, where he helps the world's largest organizations secure AI the way they should have secured everything else: with Zero Trust as the architecture, not the buzzword. He works directly with CIOs, CTOs, CISOs, and boards on agentic AI governance, AI data security, MCP and agent traffic, and the shift to an enterprise with two workforces, humans and AI agents.
Brian has spent more than two decades in enterprise security. He has watched the perimeter disappear, SSL inspection go from fringe to mandatory, and Zero Trust become a term that vendors use for everything. Before joining Zscaler in 2017, he spent five years at F5 Networks as a Security Solutions Architect, following earlier security and IT roles at Milestone Systems, Apollo Group, and US Airways.
On stage, Brian is known for turning dense architecture into plain English with a comedian's timing. He has delivered keynotes and featured sessions at Black Hat SecTor, RSA Conference, the Official Cybersecurity Summit, Informanix Discover, and Zenith Live, and keynoted Zscaler's global sales kickoff. His lightboard series, more than 50 videos and counting, is used by security teams to explain Zero Trust and AI security to their own leadership.
Brian hosts the PEBCAK Podcast, a long-running information security show with more than 250 episodes, and has appeared as a guest on Identity at the Center, Check Point's Talking Cloud, Practically Tomorrow, and Innovation Heroes. He co-authored Sales Engineering, Unfiltered: What We Wish Someone Had Told Us on Day One with Chris Louie and Glenn Medina.
Most of the industry knows him as the Cloud God. He grew up in Globe, Arizona, and still lives in Arizona.
